The apprenticeship amounts to 3,5 years, but can be shortened to 3 with good performance. The start of the apprenticeship is in the workshop, where you will learn the fundementals of working with metal. A training partner responsible for you will accompany you during the training and support you. After the first vocational school block, you will be assigned to a team and learn the various skills of a plant engineer through participation in projects.

You will learn

• reading and understanding of technical drawings

• how steel construction structures, piping systems and vessels are manufactured

• the application of various welding processes such as gas, manual arc, metal inert gas and tungsten inert gas welding as well as thermal cutting processes (plasma and oxy-fuel cutting)

• the installation or assembly of process engineering systems and their components

• the operation of various metalworking machines (e.g.: lathe and milling machine, shear, punching and bending machine)
